FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What does a financial coach do for me?  A financial coach provides the tools and implementation strategy to change your financial life toward winning.  Most people never receive a formal education on personal finance.  A financial coach will not only provide that basic knowledge, but also provide the framework for successful financial behavior so that you may accomplish all your financial goals.

Why am I living paycheck to paycheck? Most people, regardless of income level, live paycheck to paycheck, so don’t feel bad.  But that doesn’t make it ok.  You likely have never learned how to properly operate your household on a well-written budget.  By implementing a budget every month on paper, you will make your money work for you in a prioritized fashion.  When you write out your goals you tell your money where it will be spent.

How do I write a budget?  You must always list your household income at the top of the page and then list all your expenses for that month.  Go through the expenses and list them in order starting with the most important (Rent/Mortgage, Food, Utilities, Transportation, etc.) When the money runs out everything below that point gets left off.  If you continuously run out of money before the list ends then you are living well beyond your means.  You cannot borrow your way through life and expect to win in the end.  So really take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are willing to sacrifice a few things so that you may better your future.

How do I change my bad habits? Only you can change your life. The government is not coming to save you.  Change your family’s life forever by always behaving responsibly with your money.  Live on less than you make.  Take ownership of your financial life by investing time into learning about finances.  Most family and marital issues are caused by money. Eliminate that stress by standing on your own two feet and becoming a responsible adult with money.  It’ll help your marriage and your relationships.

Does a financial coach meet with me?  Yes. All customers receive the highest level of in-person service provided by one of our financial coaches. We will meet with you initially before you even enroll in our services if you like.  Comfort and knowledge is the way you will make financial decisions in the future and that’s how we think our relationship should start.

How much does a financial coach cost?  A financial coach is an investment into your future. The return on this investment will last a lifetime by gaining the expertise provided by our financial coaches.  Our service costs less than the average U.S. monthly car payment = $400 (source: NADA).  But, unlike the car payment, if you are not able to save $400 in the next year from our services then we will REFUND your investment.

How do I get my spouse on board with saving money? Naturally there seems to be a spender and a saver in each relationship.  As the natural saver, you must quietly and calmly explain to your spouse that getting a strong financial foundation is extremely important to you.  Then, ask for a 15-20 minutes once per month to plan the budget for the coming month.  You may not be able to force your spouse to compile the budget, so you do it in advance.  Provide each person with an equal vote when reviewing the budget before you both sign off on the numbers.

Can I pay with a credit card? Simply put, NO.  Although we encourage everyone to enroll in our program we don’t want to allow the bad habits to continue for our gain. Our mission has always been to help customer eliminate debt and stay out of debt after paying off debt.  It just wouldn’t be proper for us to accept credit cards.  We’d rather you save the money and come see us in a few months.  That way, you won’t carry the burden of a payment around with your new skills and behaviors with money provided by Win-Win Financial Coaching.
